GRACE OF GOD RECOVERY HOUSE
Grace of God Recovery House is a safe home for men recovering from alcoholism and drug addictions. Located at 120 Franklin St in downtown Rochester, it houses up to four men at a time. Residents stay in this supportive structured environment until they are ready to move on to a halfway house or independent living. Every Wednesday evening residents, former residents, staff and volunteers gather for a community meal and sharing group.
Sister Margie Henninger founded Grace of God in 1999 and serves as its live-in director. The staff and a number of volunteers provide ongoing support throughout the week. They share their twelve-step experiences, cook meals, and provide transportation for the men. An advisory group of ten people meet every other month to help with decision making and support for the programs and fundraising events.
You can contribute to this ministry through grocery/food donations, fundraising dinners in August, and an annual golfing tournament in September. Men participating in a twelve step program may also volunteer to support our residents individually and/or in the Wednesday night, Sharing for Life Group.
