Mission Statement
The Mother Earth Community at Spiritus Christi Church honor’s God’s creation through stewardship, education, dialogue, philanthropy, and action. We empower the Spiritus Christi community to nurture our mother, the Earth, who we believe is in danger, and collaborate with other faith communities to do the same. We acknowledge our interdependence on her and all living beings.

Vision Statement:
We know the Earth is in danger and we acknowledge our interdependence on her and all living beings. We strive to educate ourselves and others about our responsibility to Assure clean air, water, and healthy soils. We promote a simple lifestyle; to reduce our footprint on the earth, healthy farming practices and clean renewable energy. We strive to nurture community by offering Earth Day celebrations, homilies, and walks in nature.

Our past actions have been:

• Selling of low wattage compact fluorescent light bulbs
• Testing water in local streams
• Recycling sneakers
• Promoting car-free days
• Earth friendly weed prevention for lawns
